MARATHON, ON – The 6th annual Penn Lake Pursuit Triathlon is set for July 23-24 and there is a new component this year.  Organizers have announced that they will introduce Chip Timing to the 2011 race thanks to Thunder Bay Chip Timing.

The 375m swim course is now completely marked with floating line, coloured foam noodles, and three highly visible markers at the corners and organizers have returned to the original 20km bike course and 5km swim course. The Penn Lake Pursuit still has the most economical race fees around, for two days of triathlon racing the cost is $80 per individual or $150 per relay team.

For those who haven’t visited in a few years, Penn Lake Park has been completely revitalized with great washrooms, hot showers, excellent camping with accessible campsites and pull-through campsites + tv cable and wifi for those who don’t want to miss a minute of the Tour de France.

Organizer Joe McGill invites Marathon and area residents to come out and enjoy a great weekend of fun and competition for participants and spectators alike!
