NEW FIRES

One fire was reported on Tuesday, July 5. Hearst 5 was reported southwest of Fushimi Lake Provincial Park and is out at 0.1 hectares. 

Two new fires were reported by the evening of July 6. Sudbury 29 was reported southeast of Naughton and is not under control at 0.1 hectares. Kirkland Lake 7 was reported Larder River Provincial Park and is not under control at 1.0 hectare. No issues are anticipated with these fires. 

ACTIVE FIRES

An additional three fires are active in the Northeast Region. Cochrane 6 was reported southwest of Kashechewan and is being observed at 500.0 hectares. North Bay 17 was reported south of Temagami and is under control at 1.0 hectare. Sudbury 28 was reported north of Threenarrows Lake and is being held at 1.0 hectare. All of these fires are lightning-caused. 

FIRE HAZARD

The fire hazard is moderate in the northern sections of the region, but rises to high in the south.

SAFETY MESSAGE

Planning on enjoying a campfire this weekend? Keep your fire small, build it on care rock or dirt, never leave it unattended and make sure it is completely extinguished before leaving the site. Drown! Stir! Drown!
