Manitouwadge Moonlight Madness Continues Saturday Afternoons

It is quite rare to see Downtown Manitouwadge so busy in the evening as most stores regular closing hours are 7pm. Photo OntarioNewsNorth.com

MANITOUWADGE, ON – Friday, December 2nd, residents and visitors were very excited to attend, many shopping for holiday specials, the Manitouwadge Moonlight Madness Sale.  In addition to the downtown businesses which participated, the old Cow Palace location next to Shear Talent Hair Salon had tables available for vendors to rent at $10/table – many did; Nite on the Town Entertainment Volunteers Phil Minty and Natalie Labbee were on hand with tickets and information, crafters with jewelry, quilts, clothing and more offered their wares at several tables, home-based businesses with candles and other wonderful gifting options also shared the space.

Those who set up shop at the Old Cow Palace included Shawna Paterson with a beautiful variety of sewn ornaments, trendy fleece blankets and hand-made jewellery with polished stones.  Across from Patterson another jewellery creator offered visitors an exciting look at new pieces she had created since  her attendance at the Township Gift & Craft Show.

Barb St.Pierre organized the shopping-fair at the Old Cow and though she declined an opportunity to speak regarding it’s success (and it was quite successful as those with tables were pleased with steady traffic through the store throughout the evening) she did want to remind everyone that the doors will be open to browse crafters and home-based businesses participating every Saturday through to Christmas (check store for hours).

It was a nice treat to see the traffic downtown (and across town as the Home Hardware also offered extended hours for the evening) and all the shoppers choosing to keep their hard-earned dollars circulating in Manitouwadge.  Economic Development Administrative Assistant Karen Robinson reminds everyone that Extreme Dollars are still available and, with most Manitouwadge businesses (including OntarioNewsNorth.com) accepting these as cash, they make a great Christmas Gift; continuing for a limited time you can purchase your Extreme Dollars for a 10% bonus (buy $50 Extreme Bucks receive $55, buy $100 Extreme bucks receive $110) until December 23rd, just stop in at the Township office and see Karen during regular business hours.
