Marathon Elementary & Secondary School Teams Claim Bronze in Waterloo!

WATERLOO, ON– Wednesday, February 21st (Secondary School Competition) and 22nd (Elementary School Competition) Marathon’s École secondaire Cité-Supérieur AND Holy Saviour School each claimed Bronze medals in their divisions at the Skills Ontario 2012  Cardboard Boat Provincial Championships.

Yesterday, at the Elementary School Skills-Ontario Provincial Championships Marathon’s Holy Saviour School team of Julie Jaculack, Lauren Tocheri, Teesha Richard, and Ryan Shaw, competed against the best in the province, a follow up to their gold medal win in Thunder Bay January 31st (CLICK HERE to read about that).  The Holy Saviour Team accompanied by their Coach Dean Burke, represented Northwestern Ontario very well earning the bragging rights for highest weight at the elementary school division of the provincial competition with an incredible 621lbs supported!  The team also clocked an impressive 23.4 seconds in the official speed challenge.

Congratulations to both École Secondaire Cité Supérieur team and Holy Saviour’s team of Julie Jaculack, Lauren Tocheri, Teesha Richard, and Ryan Shaw and their Coach Mr. Burke, on their BRONZE MEDAL WINS! We look forward to hearing more about your success at the Skills-Ontario Cardboard Boat races once you are welcomed home in Marathon. The Northshore is very proud of you!

Marathon High School also competed in Waterloo at the Skills Ontario Secondary School Cardboard Boat Racing Championships placing 14th among the best in Ontario.
