MANITOUWADGE, ON – During yesterday evening’s regular council meeting (CLICK HERE to view meeting in its entirety), Community Services Director Daniel Deschamps’ announced the planning of the first Northwestern Ontario Youth Winter Games scheduled to be held in Manitouwadge January 31st through February 3rd, 2013.
The games will welcome athletes from communities with fewer than 5,000 residents, girls and boys between the 12 and 15 years of age competing in a variety of sports including cross-country and downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, curling, ping pong and others (see video for full list) for Bronze, Silver and Gold medals.
