GERALDTON, ON – March 3rd will be a typical Saturday night for most residents of the great white north,  However for 3 of our fellow northern boys it will be nothing short of true test of will and determination.  Lloyd Valley of Geraldton, Zack Vaudrin and Wesley Viita of Thunder Bay are schedule to compete at a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Event in Estevan Saskatchewan.   These 3 talented and determined athletes have put in the gym time and are now prepared to literally step into combat.

School Of Hard Knocks Championships a fight promotion based out of Calgary Alberta is hosting their 21st event at the Spectra Centre in Estevan Saskatchewan next Saturday night; this event will showcase amateur talent from all across our great nation.  Lloyd Valley a long time practitioner of Martial Arts will be stepping in the cage again for the 3rd time with a current amateur record of 1-1 and looking to add another win to his record. Lloyd will be facing his toughest opponent to date in the likes of Derek Parker a talented fighter from western Canada.

Also debuting at his event are both Zack Vaudrin and Wesley Viita two extremely talented young men both training out of Thunder Bay.  Both have worked extremely hard in preparation for a chance to compete and are nothing short of ecstatic at the chance to display the skills and abilities they have gained leading up to this event.

Mixed Martial Arts is a fairly new concept to the residents of Ontario being that the sport was legalized in our Province less than a year ago. However, talented athletes from our neck of the woods have been traveling to eastern and western Canada for a number of years for the ability to display the level of competition our boys and girls have to offer this ever growing sport.

These 3 young competitors are destined for true greatness and with the support of many friends, families, training partners and coaches they will stop at nothing less.  I encourage each and every one of you to show support in any way possible whether it be leaving well wishes in the comments below, hunting them down on Facebook to wish them good luck or dipping deep into your pockets to be cage side. Let us all do what we can to show the rest of Canada that Northern Ontario has what it takes to compete with the best!

Good Luck boys from all us Northerners,
