MARATHON, ON – After a very eventful season which included the addition of some incredible snowshoeing trails, the Marathon Cross-Country Ski Club has officially announced the end of the season.

LOCKERS & KEYS________________

The club reminds those with lockers to please clear them out as soon as possible they can be transitioned back to golf lockers.

Those with a key, can:

  • leave it upstairs with a note indicating from whom it came (leave by the back door once if front is locked)
  • hand it in during the move out or at the Annual General Meeting in April (see details below)
  • give it to one of the executive (John, Barb, Lucie, Leslie, Doug, Peter, Christine or Kim).

Remember that it is your responsibility to return the key each year. The club cannot afford to not have the keys returned in a timely fashion so please be diligent in this matter to ensure the club can continue with this program.

MOVE OUT DAY_________________

Will take place Saturday April 14th. The executive reports that things are mostly packed and that with a good crowd and a few trucks/trailers it should be no more than 2 hours of work to have everything out and cleaned up. Please plan to attend and help out.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING_______

The AGM is scheduled for April 18th at 6:30pm at the Marathon High School. This meeting will review the years activities and financial status. It is always so important to have a good representation by the membership. There are also vacancies to be filled on the board. The Marathon Cross-Country Ski and Snowshoe Club meets only once per month for 2 hours so board membership does not require a huge commitment. If you have a genuine interest in helping direct the club and in the well being of the club as a whole then you are encouraged to come out and volunteer.

MESSAGE FROM KIM & LESLIE_____

“Happy Spring to you all! Hope you have time to get out and enjoy the trailsl remember they are great for walking/running… and dogs are most welcome.” Kim and Leslie Ransom, Marathon Cross-Country Ski and Snowshoe Club
