Nipigon Mourns Kateryna Boholij

Kateryna Boholij, 87 years, of Nipigon, Ontario passed away Saturday, May 5, 2012 in the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, with her family by her side. Kathy was born in the Ukraine and came to Canada and to Nipigon in 1950. She was employed for many years at Multiply Plywood in Nipigon. Kathy was an avid gardener and had a real green thumb. She had a positive outlook on life and her greatest pride was her family – children, grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved and cherished with all her heart.
Predeceased by her husband Fred, her daughter Nina and husband William Willan; she is survived by two children – Nick (& Debbie) Boholij of Gimli, Manitoba and Julie (& Robert) West of Ladysmith, British Columbia, by five grandchildren – Dana (& J.P.) Costaz of Vancouver, British Columbia, William (& Kerri) Willan and Christopher (& Lesley) Willan both of Nipigon, Ontario, Jenna Boholij of Winnipeg, Manitoba and Brett Boholij of Thunder Bay, Ontario, by five great grandchildren – Noah, Joel, Ally and Kayla Willan and Remy Costaz. Nieces and nephews in the Ukraine also survive.
Funeral services for Kathy Boholij, in the care of Elliott Funeral Home Ltd., Nipigon will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 11 A.M. at Grace United Church, Nipigon with Pastor Roberta Beyer R.D.L.M. officiating. Interment (Private Family) will be in Cliffside Cemetery, Nipigon. Friends so wishing may make donations to the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital.
