May 9th, 2012 Editor Karina Hunter spoke with the Honourable George Valin, Chair of the  2012 Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission for Ontario regarding Manitouwadge Town Council’s interest in being redesignated to the Thunder Bay – Superior North riding (from the Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing riding the community is currently included in).

During the conversation, Hunter asks regarding the possibility of Northern Ontario seats, whether language and Manitouwadge being recognized as having a significant francophone population will be considered or if how being part of the Thunder Bay-Superior North riding had served the community when it was previously part of that riding and about the process of electoral boundary redistribution.
