Led by Mr. Lalonde the Guitar Band Musicians; Damilola Bodunde, Ryan Callaghan, Alex Clark, Brittany Drapeau, Lea Leduc, and Christine Roszel were the first to perform and offered a great variety of musical numbers to those in attendance.  The Guitar Band’s performance was wrapped up by Brighton Lal who would later accompany the regular band on drums but who was prompted to perform on guitar by Mr. Lalonde who recognized in Lal a “Very original style of playing guitar” which, those in attendance seemed to concur was most enjoyable.  Lal’s performance on guitar seemed to have more of a blues style sound to it, and the young musician clearly enjoyed himself thoroughly while playing.

The full band of musicians; Shayne Albrecht, Janelle Bell, Rene Bourgeois Tricia Chartier, Alexia Dubois, Anna Marie Gillman, Mercedes Hunter, Shelby Malakoff, Melodie Mallais, Josephine Robertson, Kassandra Sullivan and the aforementioned Brighton Lal on drums, included a keyboard, guitars, bass, trumpet duo, alto and tenor saxophones, clarinet, trombones, and even at one point Mr. Lalonde exchanging his sax for a flute played a number of beautiful classical peices and many modern favourites of the band members themselves including their randition of Lady Gaga’s Poker Face and the classic rock favourite Bohemian Rhapsody.

It was a great concert enjoyed by all who attended which raised some much needed funds for the MHS music program’s instrument and equipment fund. Congratulations to all the musicians on their hard work and no doubt many practices which culminated in this entertaining evening.
