Stillwater’s Environmental Impact Statement Expected Next Week for Marathon PGM-Cu Project

MARATHON, ON – June 4, 2012, Stillwater Canada Inc. provided notification that its Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed Marathon PGM-Cu Project would be submitted to the Marathon Joint Review Panel during the week of June 11th-15th, 2012.  A copy of the letter is published directly below.

The Panel will issue further direction regarding the review of the EIS following its submission.

Re: Environmental Impact Statement Report Submission Notice

Dear Dr. Lapierre,

Thank you for your letter dated March 6, 2012, I apologize for the delayed response.

As requested by the Joint Review Panel, Stillwater Canada Inc. is writing to advise that we anticipate submitting the main Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) Report for the Marathon Platinum Group Metals and Copper Mine (the Project) during the week of June 11th to 15th, 2012.

Stillwater Canada Inc. (Stillwater) will provide an electronic version of the EIS Report to the Joint Review Panel, Federal and Provincial governments involved with the assessmentof the Project and post on the Project website (http://marathonpgmproject.com) with hard copies to follow. We anticipate that we will be providing the supporting technical documents within a week or two following the main EIS Report submission.

To ensure accessibility to the EIS Report, hard copies of the reports will be available to communities in band offices of potentially affected First Nations communities, public libraries and/or local university or college libraries, and city or town halls. After the EIS Report is submitted, a list of places where the EIS is accessible will be provided to the Panel for posting on the public registry.If you have any questions or need clarification please do not hesitate to contact me at your convenience.
