Marathon Joint Review Panel – Start of Public Comment Period on EIS
The Marathon Joint Review Panel has issued a Public Notice advising of the start of the public comment period on the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) submitted by Stillwater Canada Inc. regarding the proposed Marathon PGM-Cu Mine Project. As outlined in the public notice, the Joint Review Panel is inviting the interested parties, the public, Aboriginal groups, and government agencies to review the EIS and provide comments to the Panel on the sufficiency of the information presented as measured against the EIS Guidelines, and on the technical merit of the information presented. All comments must be received in writing by Friday, October 26, 2012.
The EIS and the supporting information documents can be found on the public registry for the project (http://www.ceaa-acee.gc.ca/050/details-eng.cfm?evaluation=54755). To assist you, the MarathonPGM-CU–CEAR_Document_Numbers-Marathon_EIS (CLICK to view/print) provides the Canadian Environmental Assessment Registry (CEAR) document numbers for the main volume of the EIS and the various supporting documents. Hard copies of the EIS are also available in viewing locations throughout the proposed project area, including local libraries, town halls and band offices.
