Terrace Bay Receives Superior North CFDC Local Initiatives Funding

The Township of Terrace Bay was successful in three applications in  2012  to the Superior North CFDC Local Initiatives Contribution program.  The Local Initiatives Contribution program is funded by FedNor.  The Township received approval for $2,987 towards the marketing costs of the 2012 Green Tradeshow which was a huge success in attracting visitors from throughout the region.  The Township received approval for $2,061 towards the costs of the innovative Web Based Promotion Project which utilizes the incredibly popular www.tbnewswatch.com website to attract visitors.  The project is still ongoing, but the website is directing approximately 500 visitors a month to check out the Enjoy Terrace Bay web page.  Finally, the Township recently received approval for $6,600 towards the cost of marketing the Lighthouse Street Festival to the region.  The street festival will be held on August 24, 2012 in Simcoe Plaza and is featuring more activities and the most participation from the business sector.  Mayor Michael King says “We are very thankful for the funding support from Superior North CFDC and FedNor.  These initiatives fit with our strategy to encourage growth in the Community through our special events and attracting new visitors to Terrace Bay”.  For more information on Superior North CFDC, visit www.sncfdc.org.
