RED ROCK, ON – The Township of Red Rock was pleased to be awarded a Trillium Grant to build a Splash Pad at the Marina. ABC Recreation was the successful bidder for the project. The splash pad was installed the week of July 16th and was commissioned August 9th. This was good news for attendees of the Live from the Rock Folk Festival, both young and young at heart, who took advantage of the Splash Pad throughout the festival weekend, August  9th through 11th, as a great place to play, meet new friends or just cool off a bit.

The concrete slab for the pad is approximately 2000 sq/ft. There are 12 water features on the splash pad. The splash pad runs on a 4 minute cycle. To activate the splash pad, one needs to hold their hand over the activator at the north end of the pad. Not all water features are spraying simultaneously, the 12 different features come on and off throughout the 4 minute cycle.

The splash pad is operable seven days a week throughout the summer months from 11am to 9pm.

Children in community of Red Rock continue to enjoy the splash pad very much and it is rarely vacant during operable hours. Visitors and residents havecommented on its’ ideal location and the benefits of it being operable 7 days a week with no user fees for those who come to enjoy it.
