TERRACE BAY, ON – Again, this year, students, staff, families and friends of St. Martin School and École Franco Terrace participated in Operation Christmas Child or the Shoebox Collection. This project continues to grow from year to year and once again we had a fantastic response.

All of the shoeboxes we collect are taken by volunteers to Thunder Bay and from there they go to a large distribution centre. Following that they are sent all over the world to children affected by war, poverty and natural disaster. This annual activity is organized by Samaritan’s Purse and their goal this year was to reach 100 million shoeboxes. We will find out next year if the goal was achieved.

What a special opportunity this is for us to share with children who need our help, to send our love and care and to wish each of them the blessings of Christmas. We cannot even imagine the effect this simple gift has on the children receiving them and let us keep the children of the world in our prayers.
