SUSPENDED DRIVER CAUGHT WITH DRUGS

CHAPLEAU, ON – February 2, 2013 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Chapleau Detachment initiated a stop for a traffic violation on Aberdeen Street.  The driver, 25-year-old Andre FRANCOEUR of Sudbury failed to provide a driver’s licence.  A records check revealed he was prohibited from driving and as a result he was arrested for Drive While under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

During a search of the accused OPP found a substance that is contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.  Further charges were laid against the accused, including;

  1. Possession Schedule 1 Cocaine
  2. Breach of Probation x2 counts

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Chapleau Courts in April.
