With a whopping worldwide box office tally of 2.9 billion dollars, it is no wonder that the Lord of the Rings franchise is still alive and healthy to this day. Fans were overjoyed to learn that the series was being rebooted with a new trilogy of Hobbit movies. The first in the spin-off is “The Hobbit:  An Unexpected Journey”, grossed an impressive 302 million dollars after its December 14th theatrical release. Now, The Hobbit is set to release
on DVD and Blu-Ray this week, along with eight other films.

Below is a brief synopsis of each;

Late Bloomers: starring William Hurt and Isabella Rossellini – After retiring following decades of experience in the workforce, a married couple experience some struggles as they attempt to adjust to their new lives. (Drama) (DVD).

Rust and Bone: starring Marion Cotillard – A man and a woman, each facing the after effects of life changing events, find themselves drawn together as they seek comfort in each other’s presence. (Foreign Drama) (DVD) Academy Award Nominee for Best Foreign Film.  Also available to rent at 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge!

Shadow People: A radio talk show host unravels a conspiracy about encounters with mysterious beings known as The Shadow People, and their
role in the unexplained deaths of several hundred victims in the 1980s. (Horror/Thriller) (DVD)

Gears of War Judgment:  The game’s story takes place during flashbacks recalled by Baird and his team during a hearing at a COG military
tribunal. Each level is a recollection by a different member of the team as they face new obstacles with new weapons in the latest installment of the

The Walking DeadSurvival Instinct – A first-person action survival based on the award-winning TV series. In the game, players assume the role of the mysterious, crossbow-wielding survivor Daryl Dixon, alongside his overbearing brother Merle, Join them on a haunting, unforgiving

March Break Wrap-Up

As was mentioned in last week’s Crossover Insider, March Break was a week full of great savings and free samples at Crossover Video and
Games. Samples of our delicious freshly popped popcorn were going fast and judging by the smiles on our customers faces, we think they were well received! We also had our entire selection of used movies on sale at 50% off! Customers were especially pleased to be able to add to their Blu-Ray collection at prices at cheap as $5!
