North Shore Family Health Team Hosts Sold Out Menopause Gala

In spite of the formal decor, treating participants to an obviously unique and special evening, the atmosphere was warm, open and welcoming - a perfect blend of casual elegance quite different from a typical information session. Photos NSFHT

SCHREIBER, ON – Wednesday evening (October 9th, 2013) The North Shore Family Health Team, with the support of coporate sponsors; McCausland Hospital, Stuart Pharmacy (Terrace Bay), and Schreiber Recreation Department,  held the Menopause Information Gala, at the Schreiber Recreation Centre.   The event was the first of its kind by the NSFHT with presenters including the family health team’s Registered Dietician, Nurse Practioner, Registered Practical Nurse and Social Worker as well as special guest Kelly Christopharo, fitness enthusiast and Recreational Therapist at St. Joseph’s Care Group in Thunder Bay, each of whom gave presentations on aspects of menopause, such as symptoms, signs or treatments for example, from their field of expertise.

To add to the entertainment, and keep things light, there were short videos shown between speakers from the Poise Brand YouTube channel, humorous videos from it’s “Hot Flash Road Show” (see example by clicking play on the video below. CLICK HERE to visit the channel for more.

After the formal presentations, the panel of speakers answered questions, from the audience who had been provided, at each table with pens and paper to jot down questions relating to information presented or on menopause topics which had yet to be addressed.
