RED ROCK, ON – Sunday, October 6th the Red Rock Historical Society held it’s FIRST Trinkets to Treasures Road Show and this first was an incredible success!  More than 170 people, among them nearly 60 attending to have their trinkets and treasures; antiques, collectibles and family heirlooms, appraised by professionals Paul Kimberley owner of Black Cat Antiques & Art and Wayne Pettit, and his wife Mary, owners of Paper Chase Antiques; from Thunder Bay and Shuniah respectively.

In addition to appraising the items, Kimberley and the Pettits provided histories and origins of many items, sharing (or clearing up) information regarding the ages, countries of origin, purposes or uses, when these were not already known – groups gathered and huddled around those getting their items appraised to hear the stories provided by owners and appraisers. Throughout the day the appraisers would, when being presented with an especially unique item, address everyone in the hall (via the microphone waiting ready) this went on throughout the day. A steady stream, and constant buzz of people having appraisals done, entertained both those having their items seen and those waiting and watching.
