Terrace Bay Going Forward with LED Streetlights

Terrace Bay Council recently gave the go ahead to Administration to begin a project to replace all the streetlight heads in Terrace Bay with energy efficient LED technology.   The successful provider will be Erth Corp which is a company with over 30 years of experience.  Erth Corp will provide a turnkey operation whereby they will be on site in Terrace Bay to conduct a photometric review to ensure the new lights, which will have three different lighting settings through a multi-range ballast, will provide the proper lighting for different situations (ex. Intersections, highways, etc). CAO Carmelo Notarbartolo says “We are very impressed with the services to be provided by Erth Corp and their experience having completed 10 projects of this type for other Municipalities.  We have been impressed with LED streetlights that we have in operation in Simcoe Plaza, the Cultural Centre Parking Lot and the Highway Commercial area.   The expected energy savings of 65% and reduced maintenance costs will provide for a short payback period and savings going forward.”  The project began shortly after Council approval and is expected to be completed sometime in December.  Winter conditions are not expected to affect the project.
