PEDESTRIAN STRUCK WALKING ON MOBERT ROAD ~Pic Mobert First Nation~

oppcolourMARATHON, ON – Tuesday November 26, 2013 around 5:00 am, two females were walking eastbound along Mobert Road in the Pic Mobert First Nation community. A pickup truck was driving westbound and struck one of the females as she crossed the road in front of the vehicle.

Superior North EMS attended and transferred the female to Wilson Memorial General Hospital with serious injuries prior to police arriving on scene.

Officers from the Marathon detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating the incident. They have interviewed the driver and will be following up with further interviews.
