St. Martin Students Celebrating Season of Lent

TERRACE BAY, ON – During the season of Lent St. Martin Catholic School in Terrace Bay has been learning what it means to enter into a season of spiritual preparation and renewal.

The grade one and two class mixed, rolled and baked the traditional bread of Lent, the pretzel (photo below) which represents arms crossed in prayer, as a reminder that prayer is an important part of our Lenten journey.

The grade one and two class has also prepared for their Journey to the Cross through a personal and class Lenten promise, as well as personal Lenten prayers and the reenactment of the Stations of the Cross.

The students learned about forgiveness through a special art project with Ms. Godin and our Faith Formation and Catholicity Coordinator, Sister Stephanie.

Sister Stephanie demonstrated to the class, through a visual using the cross, how our sins are truly forgiven by God.
