Greenstone OPP Seek Public Assistance RE: Hit and Run

GERALDTON, ON – The Greenstone Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), is looking for the public’s assistance as they investigate a hit and run motor vehicle collision that took place in the early morning hours of April 12, 2020.

On April 12, 2020, at approximately 10:14 a.m., members of the Greenstone Detachment were dispatched to a fail to remain motor vehicle collision in the area of First Street West and Clarke Avenue West in the Town of Geraldton. Officers determined that at approximately 2:48 a.m., a motor vehicle travelling southbound on First Street West left the travelled portion of the roadway and struck a fence and another parked motor vehicle, causing significant property damage. The suspect vehicle then fled the scene.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, police are looking for the public assistance in locating a dark coloured 2019-2020 GMC Sierra 1500 or similar vehicle that was observed in the area around the time of the collision.

The OPP is continuing to investigate and is asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or anyone who has information to contact the Greenstone OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
