Wolverines Clean Sweep Against Lake Superior High’s Stingers (w/video)

MANITOUWADGE, ON – Wednesday, October 28th student-athletes and their dedicated coaches from Manitouwadge High School had an early start to the morning boarding the bus at 6:15am to travel to Terrace Bay for an inter-school sports tournament.

The Manitouwadge Wolverines Varsity Girls Basketball team kicked off the day with a game
against the Terrace Stingers Senior Girls team. The game was close through each period, but
Manitouwadge came out on top with a win.

The Senior Boys Volleyball team played the next game, claiming another win for Manitouwadge
High School. The Junior Boys Volleyball team from Manitouwadge followed up with yet another
win for Manitouwadge. Both teams dominated the court with high-energy plays and strong
sportsmanship.

The day ended with an exciting exhibition game between the youngest varsity girls from
Manitouwadge and the Terrace Bay Stingers Junior Girl Basketball team. Although the Stingers
led in the first quarter, the game became close before halftime. During half-time the
Manitouwadge Varsity Girls team captain shared knowledge and advice with the younger players.

The exhibition game was a great opportunity for both teams to reinforce the skills they learnt
and start the season strong. With the Junior Girls exhibition game ending in a victory for Manitouwadge, the day was a successful clean-sweep for the Wolverines. Each game was live streamed by the Terrace Bay
Stingers for families and fans as well as students from Manitouwadge to watch and cheer on
their team. The teams had a great day of sports and safe trips to and from.
