MANITOUWADGE, ON – Manitouwadge kids from Grades 1-5 were invited last week to participate in a March Break Camp offered by the Township.  Community Programmer Shawna Patterson and her assistant Chris Townes, kept the kids busy (and learning – but that was just a bonus) during 5 days of experiments, crafts, movies, theme days and more.

The kids, boys and girls ranging from 6 to 10 years of age, seemed to enjoy spending time with new friends, with attendees from both Manitouwadge Public School and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School and even enjoyed some unscheduled outdoor play when sunny weather allowed for an impromptu snowball fight at the end of one afternoon.

Patterson and Townes were very pleased with how the camp went “The kids were great, they all participated in every activity and really made it an enjoyable week” said Townes.  The next similar activity in Manitouwadge on the horizon is Playground, a similar ‘day camp’ type program offered by the township through the summer months though it is run by staff employed specifically for the program during the summer.
