TERRACE BAY, ON – Once again the families and friends of St. Martin School and Ecole Catholique Franco Terrace participated in the Operation Christmas Child shoe box collection. This is a project organized by Samartian’s Purse and it has grown over the years, it is the world’s largest Christmas project. Hundreds of thousands of shoe boxes are distributed each year throughout the world to children affected by war, poverty and natural disaster. To date more than 100 million shoe boxes have been collected and distributed. It is amazing the number of items that can be packed into a shoe box and we can only imagine the joy that these gifts will bring to the children.

Perhaps the greatest gift for these children, is to know that God loves them and people from so far away send their love and best Christmas wishes. A couple of our St. Martin School parents were able to deliver all of our shoe boxes to Smith’s RV in Thunder Bay; this is the drop off location for our area. This year Smith’s RV collected a total of 3269 shoe boxes. May our families and friends be blessed for their love and generosity.
